We knew today was going to be a tough test, playing second in the league Wirral Gulls who gave us an idea of how good they are in the first game of the season. First half the wids was their own worst enemy, conceding penalty after penalty giving the visitors field position and the half ended one try to three.
Second half and still conceding penalties but the wids showed great resilience to get themselves back in the game and was unlucky not to cause a huge upset and win it at the end.

A draw is probably a fair result in the end although am sure Wirral will be disappointed, but both teams played their hearts out and should be applauded for their efforts!!

We now have a small break before some friendlies and then the league cup starts.
