Both teams played evenly throughout the first half, Wids once again showing their dominance in the scrums. Hoylake got the first try with about 10 minutes to go in the first half. This was enough for Wids to get back to basics, play some decent rugby and take control of the 2nd half of the game. Which they did – and scored/converted 2 tries. They were unfortunate to have a 3rd try disallowed. Final score 14-5 to Wids. Scorer: Peter Hulme x 2, both conversions by Neil Street.
