The hosts began with 15 but were reduced to 14 early on due to injury. Widnes went ahead after Kyle McGreevey collected a loose pass and raced 70 yards to the corner. He followed this swiftly with a second try, a good attack finished in the same corner.
LSH hit back with a try of their own before half time and then again going over for an early try in the second half. Peter Hulme forced his way over the line to put the Wids’ back in charge. LSH scored in the corner once more before Aaron Brown finished off another good Widnes move to seal the win, ending a well contested game played at a fair pace.
Dan Massey was unfortunate to have a try in the corner chalked off as the referee deemed the ball had already gone out of play.
Thanks to Graham Riley for playing for LSH.
