The First Team have been drawn at home to Hullensians in the Papa John’s Counties 1 North Plate Community Cup.
Given that Hullensians are based over in East Yorkshire, this will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.
Based at Springhead Lane, Hullensians were established in 1924 and operate two senior sides.
Their First XV currently compete in Counties 1 Yorkshire alongside Goole, Roundhegians, Huddersfield Laund Hill, Old Rishworthian, Dinnington, Bradford Salem, Keighley and Wetherby, West Leeds, Leodiensian and Beverley.
This year, they finished the season in seventh place in the table securing ten wins, one draw and eleven defeats.
In contrast, Widnes finished their Counties 1 Lancashire & Cheshire campaign in fourth spot, securing fourteen wins and eight defeats. They also reached the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup losing narrowly 14 – 6 to higher placed Firwood Waterloo three weeks ago.
The game kicks off at 3.00pm.
In the other games; the Seconds are playing Aspull at West Park RUFC in the Final of the League Cup with a 2.30pm kick off. The Thirds, meanwhile have a home quarter-final against Birkenhead Park in the NOWIRUL Shield with a 3.00pm kick off.
